Bull Notes - Greeley Tour Round
Field Report from the Fearless Leader

July 4, 2002

BEUTLER

Judges: Ron Howard - Chris Horton

Rained hard on Wednesday…was real deep and sticky for the finals on Thursday afternoon. Big crowd… big parade… Denver and Cheyenne TV present. Lots of good bulls at this rodeo. Quite a few of Rhett's calves.

Bull Bull Name Contestant Score Ron Chris Time
99 Sun Coast Blaine Whipp 91 22 22 8.01

Nice bull ride. Away from his hand and Blaine was doing that POST and windshield wiper thing that Leffew teaches.

610 High Voltage Cory Melton 87 22 21 8.01

Cory had to pay attention… a very little bull and a pretty big guy.

018 Mr. Didn't Buck a Lick Justin Andrade 75 19 18 8.01

Spun flat then goated off. Andrade was packing a leg like Festus and figuring out how to get to Calgary after a plane load of bull doggers who like Justin were up at Cody this night had to leave him behind since the rodeo ran long and he was for some reason--the last gunner. Justin was up at two other rodeos besides Calgary tomorrow. Not traded conflicts.

756 Diablo Luke Kelley 0 ? ? .12

Broke his pelvis at Red Lodge the previous night and got off on the back side after he nodded. Bennie switched deliveries to protect him. He got on in order to not only qualify for the average pay-off but also for the Tour points. Thanks to announcer Hadley Barrett Luke got a standing O. Bet it was a long ride from Red Lodge. Hopefully Kelley will be in Dallas next week to get the PRO's to look at his injury. May require a pin.

92 Moonshine Zack Brown 0 ? ? 1.9

Can't recall. Knowing the bull I'd guess that he got Zack raised-up and turned back away from his hand.

818 Phantom Snuff Howdy Cloud 0 22 21+ 3.7

Mousey-colored muley… built like a fireplug and meaner than a three alarmer. Bennie thinks this could eventually be a bull of the year but he's pretty mean and green at the moment.

014 Cowtown Classic William Farrell 0 22+ 22 4.5

This kid can ride. Best day I've seen this bull have in a year or so and away from Farrell's hand--with a little rear and without much kick--pretty tough to get by. Good effort.

608 Flip Flop Beau Hill 0 20+ 19 4.5

Was just back and forth in front of the catch pen… never would pull the trigger and turnback. I though Beau made an oustanding ride Wed N. 81 was way to low.

521 Windmill Charles Oldham 0 23 23 2.2

They removed one of the banana horns on this bull awhile back and he really bucked here. In the gate a 2 points better than anything in the short go.

747 Airliner Robbie Russell 0 ? 22+? 2.1

Big leap and it was over. Wowed the crowd.

748 Cork Screw Come Bouvier 0 20 18 3.9

Bucked like a cork screw… beat Come out of there and had him into his hand. Looked like he usually goes that direction but being young and having a Canuck looking him right in the eye--he just wouldn't do it. Hooked Come and really got a shot on one of the bullfighers.

409 Orlenes Joe Smith 0 22 20 3.0

Away from his hand. With so much forward movement--it's tough to get by him.
