Bull Notes - Montgomery,

Southeastern Livestock Exposition -- Winter

Herd: Harper
& Morgan <> Classic

Montgomery Sheets
They moved the short round to Sunday afternoon this year,
and attendance was way down. Last year, the Saturday night short round
perf was close to a sellout - this year... I'd guess they sold far less
than half the seats.
Here's how I saw the short round bulls:

Perf 3 -- March 16 -- 2PM
Harper &
Morgan Bulls -- Perf 3, March 16 -
2PM
103 Swamp Rat -- Ron John Thoeming
-- R
Leaping red muley fouled R.J. on the gate. RR
J93 (sometimes called Red Baron)
-- Ron John Thoeming (RR) -- R
Brindle horned bull that is really a nice spinner - 19-21 pts around to
the left & stayed hooked.
236 Sling Shot -- Cody Hancock --
R
Bull that's been around a good while. Just had a good day with Cody, who
was 82 on him. Went a little ways before he spun.
09 Love Potion -- Tyler Fowler --
L
Little Charbray horned bull that just hopped around in front
of the let-out gate. Tyler was 70 pts.
Silver Spurs
Bulls
23 Calico Cat -- Phillip Hofer --
R
Shorthorn paint bull that was out about 3 and started to circle right.
Threw Phillip off, but the Spurs guys said he was loaded on the wrong
delivery. He didn't look too rank, but they marked this bull 22-23 on
Thursday night when he threw Cory Melton off.
B5 Jumping Joe -- Darren Howard
--
Big brown bull turned back to the left - just good.
52 Full Deck -- Bryan Richardson
-- L
Seems like this was a black bull... I know Bryan spurred on him and made
it back to the short go .... spun good to the left.
W13 Doomed -- Jeff Rupert -- L
Big fat blueish looking bull. Went straight away and started to circle
left, but had plenty of buck. Jeff was 80.
25 Knocker -- Clint Solomon -- L
Black & White paint that was nasty... YUCK. Probably not worth a lot
of points if you could get him rode.
L85 Snowman -- Robey Condra -- L
White bull that just spun good to the left. Seems like Robey was 76 and
barely missed the cut for the short go.
Perf 4 -- March
16 -- 7:30 PM
Harper & Morgan Bulls
6 Red Whiskey -- Justin Ordiway
-- L
A good sonofagun! One and cracked it back to the left... looked juicy.
Red horned bull.
11 Jigger -- Buskin Wilson -- L
Mean red bull that started out bucking, but Buskin spanked him pretty
hard and he cut out across the front of the chutes kicking at his belly.
Not enough bull to make it back on.
16 Cousin It -- Ryan Brown -- R
Little flat horned bull that covered some ground before he came around.
Has a pretty mean corner, and got Ryan. Hard to get by.
605 Spotted Fever -- Randall Hinote
-- L
Spotted Watussi looking bull -- BIG horns. At Jackson, he was a nice spinner,
but here he was better & faster -- to the left. Randall warmed him
up, but too much G-force.
-1 Showtime -- Doug Vincent -- R
Outstanding paint bull. About 2 and to the left standing on his nose....
stayed hooked till right at the whistle and reversed it. Looks like he
might want to get your feet behind you. Doug won the long round with 85.
9 Red Wasp -- Blue Rodriguez --
R
YUCK! Went about 3 and probably set a record for the LONG JUMP. Turned
back... no kick... lunged... threw his head up.... YUCK-O. Getting around
the corner is the trick on this one... he settles down and spins after
that, but what a nasty corner...
98 Bubba -- Howdy Cloud -- L
This is a black nub-horned bull that was just a bull last year,
but here he got it on right in the latch. One of the better draws in the
long go. Howdy doesn't come down easily, but Bubba planted him at about
4.
H8 Try Me -- Travis Askew -- L
White bull - a tricky leaping spinner. Travis made a good ride
on him, and got back to the short go. Bull is usually enough to place
on at most of Harper's rodeos.
F6 Hard Copy -- Scott Sanders --
Very heavy and right in the gate. Bull has slowed some, but
if anything it makes him harder to ride. Less rhythym than he had in his
heyday.
Classic Pro Rodeo Bulls
P14 Marshall Dillon -- Jamie
Langston -- L
One horned black & white
spotted bull. Really nice -- one and spun to the left & stayed the
whole 8. Jamie was 79 and made it back.
15 Slim Jim -- Mickey Owens -- L
Big Brindle that was around to the left and kept lunging forward...
YUCK-O, Usually good the first time they buck him at a rodeo, and often
has a nasty trip the second time. Mickey, however, is used to playing
with nasty things and stuck him for about 68 pts.
