15,000 Bulls Recorded

Late last night, I added the 15,000th bull to the PBS database. Probullstats will be 10 years old this coming February, although the database in it's current state has only existed since January 2003 - or, going on 6 years.
Some interesting facts about these 15,000 bulls.
On average, about 2500 or so bulls get added to the database per year, although this number was lower in the beginning, and the number of new bulls per year has increased every year since 2003.
Only 6,496 of the 15,000 bulls have recorded 5 or more outs anywhere - that's about 43%.
Only 1070 bulls - or about 7% - have recorded 5 or more outs at PBR BFTS events in the same time frame.
If there were a bucking bull "Hall of Fame", a fair criteria could be what I set up earlier this year - a HOF caliber bull must have either
45 or more outs AND 45 or better career average mark, OR 75 or more outs AND 44.5 or better career average mark. At this time, 0.16% of those 15,000 bulls meet the criteria - 24 bulls in total. So at the current pace, you can expect 16 out of the next ten thousand bulls to have Hall of Fame caliber careers.
In 2007, 5420 bulls recorded at least one out at PBR, PRCA or CBR events. In 2008, that number is likely to increase significantly.
At the professional level over the past 5 years - for every pro bull rider, there are about 3 pro bucking bulls.

Keep up the good work. I enjoy having this website to look up bulls, and to shoot it on the board
