2011 So Far Jul 1, 11 12:44 am  By: Slade
The annual arrival of Cowboy Christmas each year means that the first half of the year is over. Here's the notable stats for this season.

187 events processed so far. I will end up with 500+, so I'm behind schedule, but that is normal. July and August have a ton of rodeos.

11,777 outs processed so far. A little over 1/3 of a normal year's total.

3,531 different bulls have made an appearance at some event this season. In the past two seasons, we've seen upwards of 5,700 bulls, and given where we are in the season, 3,531 is a lot. The number of bulls used each season has increased every year since 2003, but the rate of increase slowed in 2010.

1,137 different riders have appeared at the 187 events processed, and that seems like a high number. For the last 3 seasons, we've seen between 1,725 and 1,778 riders at pro level events.

Overall riding percentage is 29.2% this season. That is as normal as it gets. For the record, the riding percentage in all the outs in Probullstats is 30.25%. At the BFTS level, it's 38.23%.
