Coming up with a rating system for riders has been an off and on (mostly off) project of mine since I started storing stats in 2003.
I have tried many ways of comparing riders, but none of them have been completely satisfactory. One reason why I couldn't do this in the beginning is that I didn't have the majority of any rider's careers. Now I do, and here is my best effort at it. If you see a flaw in my reasoning or results, or believe it to be unfair, speak up - I am open to suggestions.
On the rider rankings page, you can view this for career or for the past 12 months. I believe this formula should be able to show us who the best bullriders are, even if they compete in different eras, and who is the best (i.e. most successful) bullrider in the past 12 months
