PUEBLO, Colo. (December 9, 2008) - American Bucking Bull, Inc. (ABBI) is thrilled to announce its partnership with Video Bucking Bulls, Inc. (VBBI). The vision was to give breeders the opportunity to have their Futurity bulls compete in events without leaving home. This partnership will conduct 30 to 45 futurities beginning December 13, 2008 and continuing weekly throughout 2009.
ABBI will host the video futurities with VBBI as well as sanction all events and be responsible for processing and collecting entries, verifying the eligibility of the bucking stock, and paying prize money. ABBI members will enter their bulls on the event entry page via the ABBI site. Breeders will be notified of acceptance of their entries and may obtain a “video code” for their submission from the VBBI website.
Breeders will tape their bulls during the video submission period and then upload the video to the VBBI website. VBBI personnel will confirm the video clip is valid and then place it on the VBBI website to be viewed and scored. Official judges, along with video judges, will determine the official winners. ABBI members will automatically be registered as video judges while the general public can register as a video judge by purchasing a video judge membership card through the ABBI website. Scores by the video judges will be maintained so they may be compared to the official judges. In addition, the video judge scores will be tabulated and monitored by VBBI to evaluate that video judge’s ability to ultimately qualify as an official judge.
The top animals from each of the video futurities will qualify for ABBI’s 2009 BFTS live events. The top bulls from the live events will qualify for the 2009 ABBI World Futurity Finals in Las Vegas held in conjunction with the 2009 PBR World Finals. In addition, VBBI plans to host a Video Futurity Wildcard Event prior to the Finals from which the top bulls will also qualify to compete in the Finals.
Official rules and additional information will be available soon to the VBBI web site and on the ABBI web site For more information, please call the ABBI at 719 242 2747.
