Round 2 Results

Judge's Score Order: Overstreet-Davis-Horton-Robinson

Rode 4. Think the 4 equally split the ground money for 5 and 6th places.

Corey McFadden -- 112 Red Alert -- Walls

1. $13,522.20

88 22-22-22-22.

Bull really bucked then turned back into his hand and got flat. Corey opened up and the bull caught a gear.

Philip Elkins -- R21 Gold Coast -- Bailey

2. $10,686.90

87-22-21-21-22

Pretty juicy for 4 seconds then went down the chutes. He's a handful but in the end just another phoney Okie.

Jessie Bail -- 01 Shag McNasty -- Rumford

3. $8,069.70

86 21-21-19-23

ICK. He WAS Nasty. Had some serious rolls and he did for 8 seconds. This ride brought the house down and then when the score didn't take the lead...boy did those folks BOO.

So how in the heck can one judge 23 the bull and one 19 him? Both guys are X bull riders, both good judges, both work 125 performances of so a year. So what is the deal? Position. Chris 19'ed the bull. Chris was the outside guy on the opposite side of the arena. Bull didn't kick, couldn't see the rolls. Jade was the up front guy on the Right D and he got an in-your-face picture. All he probably SAW were the rolls. So who was right? Probably neither. Jesse probably won what he was supposed to. The bull was probably a 21 if compared to what the other 14 bulls did. That's why the 4 judge system (if they have any balls and really judge) works better than the two judge deal. The best judging I ever saw was a one judge system...they gave a great bull judge 100 points to work with and told him NO SPLITS. The other judge ran a watch from back of the chutes. The two judge deal doesn't work well many times. For example Chris and Jade judged Walla Walla. Boy was it screwed up. Everybody who rode ended up 82. They neutralized each other. They just see bulls differently. The way they pair judges makes a big difference at regular rodeos. Don't pair these two at big rodeos.

Rob Bell -- 9 Stray Dog -- Honeycutt

4. $5,670.60.

65 16-16-17-15 Reride Option...declined.

Pretty hard to take a 65 here but with the average paying 2 ½ that of a go round, it's the Big E pen, it's early in the rodeo, the reride 805 Ice Water of Rosser's hasn't been ridden in a good while, and you're not exactly healthy...it was probably the thing to do. Bull had three good jumps the RAN back to the chute and scraped Rob off. You have to wonder if some bulls don't have undetected soreness or injuries at times. This bull was rank most of the year then completely quit. Or it may be that he never had to go very far until someone stuck it on him and what we saw at the PBR finals and here...is HIM. I personally think...this is him.

Blue Stone -- 426 White Caps -- Barnes

22-22-22-22 7.4.

This a good Brahmer. Turned back and stayed hooked. Dropping. Tried the whole time. Blue got back on the end of his arm and tried to tough it out from there.

Mike Moore -- 731 Bokemon -- Andrews

24-23-23-23 1.5

What a great Bodacious calf. Cute. Smaller than his monster dad. Turned back right there and bucked good. Mike hung away from his hand and the world's greatest bull fighter Joe Baumgardner first got the tail of the rope then stayed with it until he got Mike's hand out. The bull riders may have screwed up the Bull of the Year but they danged sure got the right bull fighters

Lee Akin -- 142 Voo Doo -- Bailey

23-24-24-23 3.8.

$5,743.30

Little bull beat him fair and square. In the book of great bull men David Bailey has to be one of the best EVER.

Myron Duarte -- R410 T Bug -- Gilbert

23-22-24-22 2.4. Next to Salt River's 672 this was the buckinest bull I saw. Chris 24'ed him and was the only judge that got it right. If he is a 24 then 01 really is a 19. Completely different rankness of bull. But then if R410 was a 24 ,.672 was a 29.

Cody Hancock -- 672 Prime Time -- Beeler

24-23-25-24 1.6. Chris was right again. If 112 was a 22 then this bull was a 25, at least a 25. Granted for 1.6 seconds. This IS a $150,000 bull at least for 1.6 seconds. A bull like this can put butts in seats, get people to tune in,. he ought to be in EVERY televised short go.

Vince Stanton -- C1 Mormon Cricket -- Franzen

20-19-19-19 ?. Bull didn't look very good. Hank thought this was his 5th best bull and he probably was. Still, he was in a pen of really bucky bulls and it made him look not as impressive.

Fred Boettcher -- 092 Okeechobee Wipe Out -- Beutler and Son

21-20-23-23 .9.

Big roll got Fred shortly after the nod. Bull was right on top of Fred...stepped all around him. Joe and Darrel bailed in, Darrell took two hind feet to the chest. People laughed but it was scarey to me. Tough guy... he got up and drug a stunned cheese head out the catch pen gate...away from the bull. Impressive.

Josh O'Bryne -- 233 Sting Ray -- Walls

23-22-21-22 2.6. This bull is smart. Made a big fake and when Josh made the right move...he went the other way...and all this happened in fast forward .

Jason McClain -- G21 Durango -- Mesquite

24-21-22-23 7.4. They slow mo replayed this bull several times and for the first three jumps it made 16,000 OOOOO and AHHHH. Thought Jason had him knocked-out but when bulls with drop come back toward the chutes they tend to suck back which really drills guys. Good watching. This kid is special. I don't know how Larry could 21 this bull. It wasn't like it was one jump.

Jason Legler -- 238 White Lightning -- Western

22-21-21-22 2.0.

This bull looks like his dad White Lightning. Jason had to fight with this bull while they were bucking bulls on the other D but he had a good seat when he left the chute. Didn't keep it very long. If Jason could have got him started this bull was going to be a lot better than a 21 pointer.

Kagan Sirett -- 695 Mighty -- Whitey Kish

.21-21-22...21 5.3. Kagan never really had a seat but kept trying. The creep (bull) went back towards the chutes and Sirett didn't have a hold of him... and therefore no chance.
