I went to this rodeo 22 years ago, and it was one of the best rodeos in the NE in terms of crowd, and just general event quality. It is a big deal locally. Runs 6 days, great crowds, decent added money (then), lots of pretty girls who love cowboys but never see any, etc.
However, I think I remember riding two bulls there and not breaking 70 points on either of them. Looks like not much has changed in that department. This is about as pathetic a pen of bulls as you will find at a PRCA rodeo. Just horrible. This rodeo did not draw a very good group of riders, but they still rode 40%. There sure are a lot more good bulls around than there were 22 years ago, but I guess they haven't found their way to Gerry, NY yet.
