Since the Page's took this rodeo over in 2005, the riders have managed 46 qualified rides in 427 outs. That's about a 11% riding percentage. Since 2008, that's down to 6% - just 16 rides in 288 outs. In those seven years, that's an average of just over two qualified rides per rodeo.
Twice in the past four years, the Belle Fourche 4th of July rodeo has featured a Built Ford Tough Series quality pen of bulls. They are drawing a few of the better riders, but for the most part those guys aren't getting scores. If a rodeo like this existed in the late 80's or early 90's the entries would be maxed out every year, because in those days this would have been a dream come true. They are giving away money, and nobody is taking it.
